Long answer maybe. Short answer no. We tell customers no we cannot handle data repair services due to the explanation of loss. One of our techs can do it but it is does not come with guarantee of recovery. We can attempt to find missing or deleted data, but it comes with no guarantee of recovery. We do not promise any recovery of deleted data. The recovery of data depends on the disk which data was lost on, the circumstances in which it was lost and the limitations of technological advancement. (yes really)
If you have files which are lost we may help you attempt to recover them - but you will be billed for time spent on recovery with no guarantee of having lost files returned. We can sometimes locate files which have been erased in the recycle bin or deleted from a camera. however for very important, mission critical, cannot afford to lose files we do not have - nor will pretend to have the equipment for advanced recovery. For information on how we perform recovery see Ace Lab Tools
in this case we will refer you to a specialist who deals with the retrieval of files located in the UK. this person is not affiliated with Fix Tech Stuff in any way and is better at recovery then us- thus the reason you will be referred. he is also incredibly expensive.
Device wanting sign-in after reset? (Google FRP)
No. since this is strictly a theft deterrence feature, not a security feature, and the standard implementation depends on having the device tied to an account on an online service. The only advantage would be encouraging thieves to return a stolen device for a potential reward after realizing that it has no value beyond scrapping it for parts.
Google's Factory Reset Protection ties devices to a Google account using a tiny, special region of persistent state not wiped by a factory reset. It prevents a thief from wiping the device to a fresh state for resale without being stuck at a screen for authenticating with the Google account persisted on the device after wiping.
If you've purchased a device that is locked requiring sign-in we suggest you contact the place you sold the device.
Maybe. We have made the decision to in most cases refuse customer brought parts as we can't obtain the proof of guarantee on the parts or invoicing info. Since we can use a distributor for parts, it is not worth risking the companies future for a cheaper repair. In the past when someone brings their own parts they don't fit, are inferior quality, or have manufacturing issues it has caused frustration both for the customer (who now has a longer return time AND has to return shoddy parts) and the repair techs, which can't vouch for the part logistics. As such we do not normally accept repairs with customer provided parts.
The exclusion is if you have spoken with a repair tech about bringing your own parts, and understand if they are wrong or refused to be used the return process is on you and you would need different parts to repair your device. If you buy the wrong parts, you still need parts to repair the phone. It is strongly encouraged you speak with the repair tech prior to purchasing any parts.
Here are the tools you will need.
